[...] Student Resources [...]
Greetings, Mike.
I have some resources on Mark that you are welcome to use.
First, there’s my independently compiled uncial archetype of Mark; Ben Smith presents it, with text-critical annotations, at
http://www.textexcavation.com/marcanarchetypescans.html
Beware: it has some typos. They are fairly easy to decipher, though.
Second, I have completed a research-book, “Authentic: The Case for Mark 16:9-20,” in which I explain and defend the theory that Mark 16:9-20 was attached to the rest of the text during the production-stage, not at a later stage. I also present some patristic evidence that, afaik, no one else has collected in one book. And I correct some mistakes that were made by Metzger and which have been spread far and wide by commentators borrowing Metzger’s statements. The book can be purchased as a Kindle eBook from Amazon. Or you can download a copy from the TextExcavation site — the 2011 edition at
http://www.textexcavation.com/jimsnapp.html . Or you can e-mail me and ask for a free copy.
Third, I have made two video-lectures focusing on different aspects of some of the evidence pertaining to Mark 16:9-20:
Mark 16:9-20 and Some Patristic Evidence (in three parts):
Part 1 – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kzJVTDi7SGs
Part 2 – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2y2KQaLyARw
Part 3 – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CEo1tWlUta4
Mark 16:9-20 and the Abrupt Ending (in four parts):
Part 1 (Vaticanus, Bobbiensis) – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pKCMduynjNE
Part 2 (Sinaiticus) – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GUz3XK2nYmY
Part 3 (Eusebius and Jerome) – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CeMV6N7kxvE
Part 4 (Sinaitic Syriac, Annotated Copies) – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zUwW4Bd6i-0
Fourth, for a summarized overview of the relevant evidence, you can visit http://www.curtisvillechristian.org/public/MarkOne.html where a multi-page presentation on Mk. 16:9-20 begins.
Yours in Christ,
